About Us
The Policy & Innovation Center conducts research, convenes stakeholders, recommends policy, and brings resources to communities to solve complex challenges such as unaffordable housing, climate change, and inequitable economic mobility. Our founding partners include the San Diego Foundation, the County of San Diego, and the Brookings Institution, the world’s leading think tank. Our partnership with Brookings helps us understand national best practices and trends that in turn inform local and national policy conversations.

Since launching in August 2021 as a 501(c)(3) organization, we have built strong working relationships among civic leaders, government agencies, municipalities, and other community stakeholders to help solve problems that extend beyond the reach of any single actor or jurisdiction.
We identify challenges, and follow an iterative process to collaborate, research, plan, implement, evaluate, and scale projects and programs proven to generate positive outcomes.
