April 8, 2025 – Sweeping new import tariffs on about 60 countries and territories went into effect at midnight eastern time Wednesday creating uncertainty about how much exactly prices could go up on everyday goods.
Universal tariffs of 10% are already in effect, and China faces the steepest levy.
