Emmerie Schoolsky, E.I.T., leads PIC’s Green Stormwater Infrastructure demonstration program, which will operate in a 9.5-acre site in Spring Valley. As project manager and stormwater engineer, she oversees the design and successful implementation of the project.
The demonstration program is funded a $4.5 million grant from the County of San Diego to launch pilot projects for the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Through this grant, PIC is providing policy recommendations, funding solutions and much needed water research to address water affordability and help local water utilities facing challenges from operational and capital pressures. This project is supported by community partners such as San Diego Youth Services.
With eight years of experience before joining PIC, Emmerie has led a wide range of stormwater and pollution prevention initiatives, primarily supporting military installations throughout San Diego County.
She worked with the Base Realignment and Closure Group at Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Point Loma, managing complex environmental remediation projects — including synthetic chemicals and sediment and radiological cleanup efforts at former Naval Installation Treasure Island.
Emmerie holds a degree in environmental engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and is driven to build a cleaner environment and advance environmental justice within her community.
